When you lock the human out.

A dogs tale.

I, myself, a dog, very much enjoy a good car ride; like I’m sure most of my canine pals do. But how many other hounds have locked their humans out of their vehicle? Not too many I’m sure. Well the other day I did just that very thing! You see my human needed to make a quick run to our local corner store, and we live in Canada where currently, even though it’s spring; it still feels very much like winter.

She heated up the car, I got excited, so she shrugged and decided I could come along for the quick ride as well. Being a caring mum she wanted me to keep warm. So first she bundled herself up in her warm winter gear, then she assisted me with mine… even though I told her I could do it myself… she never listens.. humans, am I right?

Anyways, by the time we got all bundled up the Jeep was warm enough for us to get going, so of course I bolted out the door, had a quick sniff around; then ran to the Jeep. She again assisted me, with getting up.. and we headed off to the shop.

She once again being a kind caring mum, decided she would only be a quick minute to grab a drink and a snack; and of course she wanted me to stay warm, so she left the keys inside and the Jeep running, to keep me toasty.

I of course went into panic mode right after she was out of view, what if she was in danger?! I couldn’t see! so any who, I’m barking, jumping, causing a ruckus for what felt like an eternity (was actually only like 3 minutes) I see her pop out the door with some goodies. Phew what a relief!

Silly me in my panicked state, I stepped on the lock button! haha silly human I barked, you can’t get in! She shook her head at me. Then to my dismay, she disappeared right back into the shop! “OH THE HORROR” I barked. But just as quickly as she went in she came back. She then started pointing to the area of the unlock button dragging her finger on the window from me to the button. Ohhh you want in? Silly human all you had to do was ask! Of course I obliged, it was way to cold outside to keep the poor thing out there. She didn’t think I was too funny, but I sure did!

She laughed and got in, waved to the cashier and away we headed back home.

Until next time Fur family,
