Puppy Chews

So lets talk about teething… and the Sophee.

When you are in the shower.

Clearly from the image above, Soph was left unattended while I had a shower.. again clearly I was not watching her, my own fault. Luckily the paint is non toxic, but still.

We’re really at a trial and error point with Soph and her toys, we’ve come to the conclusion that she enjoys fabric toys and not so much hard toys as you can see from some of her selection below.

Fabric toys tend to last her all of 5 minutes before she has a hole right through it, but man does she love them. Rope Bones are her next favourite, they last longer than fabric toys of course so we’ll probably stick closer to them.

Kong I find was a great solution until she figured out that to get the treat out she just has to slam it on the floor a few time .. lol.

Natural Chews work great as well to keep her interested, I don’t have any current images though as she tends to get through them pretty quick. I definitely want to try antlers for her once shes a little older, they’re just too hard for her little teeth at this point.

Once she starts getting pieces of anything off I remove the toy or chew (unless edible) from her reach. We always recommend that any new toy be supervised with puppies.

Do any of your dogs have a favourite style of toy? What was the best when they were a puppy? What was the worse thing they chewed on you?

We would love to hear some of your funny stories, leave a comment below!

Winter Has Come

Oh hai Fam!

So me being little and fluffy I have a hard time in the snow, and well I just plan dislike going outside; especially when the snow is almost as deep as my mum is tall! So I tend to try and hide away when mum or dad calls me to go out for a pee; they always seem to find me though, I just don’t get it! I thought I was the best hider in the house, they just seem to be too clever!

Maybe if I don’t look at them; if I can’t see them, they can’t see me, right?

Nope, they definitely can’t see me at all this time, not a chance! Or so I thought, soon mum was laughing and dad came around the corner and laughed too.

Dang, I really thought I had them this time.. well I guess outside I go.

See you soon fam!

Sincerely,

Soph on the Daily

Oh heya fur fam! Missed you!!

So some days I find it hilarious to make these silly faces at mum, I really enjoy doing it when its too cold outside to do much other than run out and do my business then run back in as quickly as possible- and we’ve had a few of them lately.

The snow has also gotten so deep here it’s OVER my head in some spots. When it isn’t too cold out I like to run- or hop as fast as possible through it all, the parents think it’s hilarious when all of a sudden POOF I disappear.. under the snow.

Mum wants to try and get some good shots of my brother and I hopping through the snow, hopefully it isn’t too chilly this weekend and maybe we can share some with you soon!

Talk to you again soon Fam!

Sincerely,

The Dogs

Dog vs Stick… BIG Stick

Well hi fur fam, thanks for stopping by!

So recently there has been a huge amount of noise in our backyard, and mum wouldn’t let us have full access to it because of that glorious “mess” as she called it; Soph and I just see a heavenly large pile of sticks.

We have had to cut down a major issue in our backyard, mum and dad both said it was too dangerous to keep and unfortunately our last standing poplar- over 100 feet tall I may add- that’s what mum said anyway, the thing was huge okay mum says 100 feet but that can’t be right, it must have been a billon Sophs tall it was SO big!

After a few days when the tree guys left, we got to run around and play fetch with some sticks. It was so much fun, Soph really didn’t like the noise when the guys were here though; I myself, have heard it before when we had to have the other one cut down. I’m not a big fan of the noise mind you but I don’t get too over worked about it, Soph did for the first day but then she was okay, she just didn’t understand what was going on at first.

“Holy Moly! Look at the size of that stick Bently!” ~ Sophee

Anyways, the issue mum and dad had with the tree was the branches- HUGE, tree sized branches- were falling off from the top. The last BIG storm we had in the fall, another huge branch fell and broke the neighbours fence. Mum said that was the last straw, that the tree is going to really hurt somebody, or worse.

So mum said they looked and looked for the perfect tree cutter person… oh what did she call him again… oh that’s right and Arborist. So they looked for a while, because it was so expensive it took some time to find the right one, some people even quoted $4,000 CAD; mum says it’s a very hard and dangerous job, that’s why it’s so expensive. But during the winter time “slow season” the arborist called it, he gave us an amazing deal at $1,400 CAD he even mulched all the .. “brush” mum called it and took it away- Soph and I were pretty peeved about that, he took our sticks! But at least there is lots left over, and he may have cut up the biggest stick, but at least he left us all of it’s pieces. How dare he, who takes a dog’s stick I say! Mum says not to be silly, we don’t want the mess, and I asked her what the heckle jeckle was messy about those wonderful sticks?!

But anyway, Soph and I will get over it I suppose, I just can’t wait to get at that big giant monster of a stick, oh boy oh boy, I can’t wait.

Well Fur fam, Thanks for joining us we missed you!

Sincerely,
